Service is horrible Food is Great

Posted by buffnt622 on 6/10/2009

The food is great, which keeps me coming back... But, the service is horrible. Takes forever to take your order, my order is sometimes incomplete, they never come back to refill your drinks or see if you need anything. Takes a long time to pay as well. If you have the time and don't mind getting out of your seat to flag down a waitress then I recommend Tomodachi. Also, you can raise your hand and holler, but they ignore you. I have actually had to tap someone on the shoulder to get them to look at me. I really wish I could NEVER go back, but the food is too good and it is local. Instead, I don't leave a tip.

Wonderful place

Great food and friendly service. They have the best sashimi. However, try to avoid the crowd. It gets pretty busy on friday nights and on the weekends. It is wise to go right when they open for dinner to avoid the crowds.

not real Japanese

Posted by Eric W. on 4/6/2006

This place commits the number one sin in my book...The ethnicity does not match the food as advertised. This is my biggest pet peeve. I don't care how good the food tastes. If the owners are not the same as what it says on the door, all credibility might as well go out through it.As a matter of fact, sometimes I go to these types place establishments and speak to them in Japanese (even though I'm not even Japanese myself), and they have no clue what I'm talking about. So, how authentic is that?!
